Contest Brief

Looking for a talented cover designer to capture the essence of my upcoming novel. This design requires expertise in illustrating local culture and landscape, making it unique and inviting.

Key Requirements:

- Must adopt an earth-tones color scheme, incorporating shades of browns and green/blue primarily.
- The mood to convey is "Hope and Resilience". The cover should tell a silent, compelling tale of optimism and hardiness, without losing the novel's Malawi essence.
- The focus should be on Local Malawian Culture. Be creative in how you integrate this into the design. Knowledge about Malawian traditions, lifestyles, or having designed book covers featuring different cultures would be a remarkable advantage.
- Featuring a beautiful Malawian woman carrying her baby on her back held by a vibrant red themed chitenge cloth and carrying a bucket of water on her head. Note the way babies are held in Malawi (with the chitenge tied over one shoulder)
- The book is titled Hoping for Water with the subtitle A Malawi Story and the auther is Jacqueline Gondwe

Ideal skills & experience:

- Demonstrated artistic skills in book cover design.
